Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
– Mary Oliver
Beyond your wildest dreams, hours away from anything remotely close to the hustle and bustle of civilization, Big Creek Lodge & Resort opens up a comfort zone in the great outdoors. It's a wilderness adventure with a perfect place to land.
It's not only a feast for the eyes up here. It's actually quite a feast. Focused on healthy, filling cuisine to fit backcountry tastes, our menu changes often depending on what's in season and inspiring us.
If it was easy to get here, it wouldn't be Big Creek. An epic adventure from the get-go, the middle of nowhere is a pretty fitting way to put it. Luckily, we can provide you some direction, whether you drive or fly in.
I received a gift today...a token of the larger gift of having had the unique pleasure and privilege of being one of the caretakers of this, one of the most amazing lodges in Idaho's backcountry.
I had only an idea of what it would be when we accepted the position, and everything about it exceeded my expectations in an overwhelmingly positive way.
My biggest take away is that while the Lodge is new, Big Creek is very old, and has a history as rich as the ground she sits on. To the local people, the Forest Service and the pilots that care for her; the people who come to rest, eat and refresh here; the Idaho Aviation Foundation and all who contributed to her rise from the ashes..THANK YOU!
You have given me the experience of a lifetime in getting to know you and serve you.
Thank you Mark Feifarek and Janie Sigler, my team mates...you rocked!
The list of people to thank is much too long for this post, but I think y'all know who you are!😉 And to all of you who I haven't met who support this beautiful place...Thank You!
It was hard to leave, for I left a piece if my heart there. But I'm happy to say that Mark and I will be back next year to continue the traditions and to perhaps start some new ones!
What a beautiful place Big Creek is! Visit us this week in our final days of the season. Our last meal served will be breakfast on Friday, October 9th. If you're unable to visit us this year make your reservations now for next year at www.bigcreeklodgeidaho.com/book. ... See MoreSee Less
